In 2018 Simalu won an award from the Bali regional Bank Indonesia as a young pioneer of technology-based social movements. In the competition, simalu presented a technology-based waste processing application. This was inspired by the increasingly worrying waste problem, especially in Bali as a tourist destination. Garbage is the result of human activity that is always there during human life. waste with certain categories can still be used as goods or raw materials for a product, so this becomes an economic potential if waste is managed properly.

Simalu application users can find out the location of the waste bank that receives recyclable waste so that users can send it or can also request a pick-up schedule. The results of selling customer recycling waste can be seen on the Simalu application in real time. In the Simalu application, users can also exchange vouchers at several stores that work with Simalu.

With the implementation of technology for social problems, it is hoped that it will make it easier for users to manage the waste they produce, so as to create a clean and healthy environment.
